Creating COMM-add ins for the first time

Jan 21, 2013 at 2:46 AM

Migrating from VBA and word add-ins and venturing into creating COMM add-ins

To start a new project do I download visual studio 2010 express (because it is not compatible with visual studio express 2012) and then add in the developer toolbox 1.1 and NetOffice

How do I go about creating my first project?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I think Visual Studio 2012 Express is capable of converting Visual Studio 2010 solution to own format so try the following way:

  1. Run VS Project Wizard in the Developer Toolbox and create Automation Addin project.
  2. Open project in Visual Studio 2012 Express

Good luck and inform us of your result!

I'm doing it with VB 2010 Express + NetOffice + Developer Toolbox.

It's dead easy. Just create a new project and in the template dialog, choose "Automation Addin" under "NetOffice". The wizard will do the rest.
