How to Open Password Protected Access file

Feb 15, 2012 at 8:09 PM

How would I go about opening an access database using the .OpenDatabase() method and supplying the password?

DAO.Database existingDatabase = accessApplication.DBEngine.Workspaces[0].OpenDatabase(documentFile);

hello there,

OpenDatabase works with the database typical connection string.
very common is:

DBEngine.Workspaces(0).OpenDatabase("documentFile", false, false, ";pwd=myPassword")

Sebastian,

Thank you for the quick reply. I will pass those args in the constructor. Also, do you have documentation on the API for the various classes and methods?

NetOffice is an 1:1 Wrapper to the original Microsoft API there you know from VBA or Interop. you can use the local help files(*.chm) or microsoft online documentation. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/aa905369.aspx

as i start with NetOffice i think about delivering office developer documentation with NetOffice releases but its not allowed.

for questions you can use the NetOffice discussion board(i'm happy to help any time) or one of the limitless office developer boards, specialy the ms-online discussion board for office.
